The IOBO Humpy, D. Southall Technique

If you find tying the IOBO Humpy too tedious using my technique, here's a very good and simpler way to do it. I was floored when a member of my tying club handed me a UK magazine "Fly Fishing & Fly Tying" and said "turn to page 59". There was a full page devoted to tying the IOBO Humpy by Dave Southall! That was a kick. Dave, unaware of why I tied the Humpy (using inappropriate length feathers) devised a simpler way to tie the IOBO Humpy with the same result. In case you don't have access to magazine (March 2015) I've illustrated the steps in the following pages.

Dave's method also allows for a slim bodied version or a fat bodied one. I'll try to show both in the following step by step instructions. This video is only 2 minutes and 7 seconds long and I cover both slim and fat versions. At least 20 seconds faster to tie than my original method.
