I ordered a small adjustable reamer and when it arrived it was a bit more fragile looking then I expected. Obviously care was going to be needed using this guy. So aplying the same idea of a tap starter I went ahead and made a reamer started/steadier for use on the Taig.

I began by making a knurled wheel of brass and filing a square hole for the tang on the reamer.

Then I made an attachment for the tailstock quill to receive the pointed end of the reamer:

Here's how it's used. This isn't for power reaming it's just a way to keep things aligned. In use the head stock is held stationary and the reamer turned with the knob.

It was difficult for me to adjust the reamer so I made two little "wrenches" and I use them as shown in this picture:

Makes adjustments a snap.
