A group of us used to go to SCCA races and "camp-out" while doing so. This was in the 50s and no digital cameras then so this is a digital picture of an old film photo. A "tent" made from two WW-II cargo parachutes, one inside the other. Slept 15 people.
Later on, there were fewer in our gang, so a geodesic dome made of seven cardboard sections that were joined by 10-32 machine screws became "home". Pop up top for ventilation is not shown here in this under construction picture but that's why the hole in the top. Slept 9 no problem.
