Tying in comfort Tying out of weather

Here's an idea so simple I'm surprised they're not being sold for $30 or $40. If you start making them for sale how about a 1% of sales cut? I like to tie flys "on demand" and when I'm camping I dislike sitting at a picnic bench with a pedestal type vise. I want to be comfortable and some of the places I fish there's no such thing as a picnic table!

So ..... find a block of wood and make it nice by rounding the ends and putting a radius on alll the edges. Then drill two holes, one the diameter of your vise stem the other the diameter of your "quad" chair. Drill another hole 1/4" in diameter at right angles to the others and at the mid-point between them. Cut the block in half down the common centerline of the first two holes. Enlarge the 1/4" hole in one half to accept a machine screw insert.

Here's what it looks like:

And here it is attached to the chair and ready to use .... ah, comfort while I tie.

But sometimes it rains and tying is a good way to kill some time but not sitting out in the weather. So I made an attachment "bench" for the steering wheel with some 1" x 2" scrap pine and 2 "J" bolts with wing nuts and you are in business. How about another 1%?

And, having found a cheap patio umbrella LED light and an "S" hook I was able to tye at night!
