Many years ago I saw a Hatchmatcher fly tyed by what I then thought was an "old guy", I liked the idea of one material being enough. Also a long time ago, I fished below the surface, another bad habit I gave up long ago. But when I did, I used a North Platte Brassie quite a bit. Finding fine copper wire then was more difficult then today, so I eliminated it and came up with my own variation.
One material, a Peacock eye herl.
Material list is pretty simple: HOOK: Dry fly or scud, size #24-18 THREAD: Fine, color to suit ABDOMEN and THORAX: 1 Peacock Eye Herl
